I’ve never expected to work for this certain airline that is famous for promo fares or low cost. At first, I thought, “Am I sure that I would accept the offer working at this airline as passenger service agent?” I know there are lots of other airlines that I could work for but I bravely accepted the offer knowing this would be tough. Many would tell me and ask me how amazing it is to work at the airport or for this certain airline. They ask me how it feels to be inside the aircraft or how we do certain process or be amazed with my stories about my daily life at the airport. I had the privilege to learn and understand more behind every details per flight. Every little detail counts on how to make a flight on time. From ground crew, mechanic, ramp agents, cabin crew and flight deck. I am more than grateful for the opportunity that they gave me to be part of the ground team.
Many are ignorant about their flights and how the process works before the most awaited airborne. How? What? Where? When? Why? All these questions, a lot of answers but a few tries to learn or educate themselves. That’s why a lot of people are being arrogant (in my opinion, stupid) trying to bash the airlines, the ground personnels, the cabin crew and pilots or everyone that is involved in their flight just cause they missed their flight or their flight was delayed.
Wish people knew that there are a lot of reasons that can cause the delay of their flights and that not only the airline I’m working for is like that. I think all airlines experience different kinds of delays and there comes a point where people cant take it anymore and just blame everyone on the ground just cause they can’t fly on time.
I apologize for every time wasted, reservations and connecting flights that they missed and for all the inconvenience this might have caused them. But I strongly think that these are not enough reasons to show up late on your flight to justify that you should be accepted just cause they delayed your flight once or so. I still think that it is still your responsibility to follow the boarding time and process and be there before offloading time.
Being in Aviation is fun! Believe me! But when it comes to safety and responsibility? I know we have great role there. To provide people a safe and secure flight and make sure to dispatch the flight and serve well people who wants to fly. Might be hard at times, but nothing beats the smiles of grateful passengers who appreciate your efforts and hard work. ♥️
